Tour of the Craft Studio
at Harbourfront Centre

Saturday, June 5, 2010, at 1 p.m.

Harbourfront Centre
235 Queens Quay West

Led by Jean Johnson C.M. and Melanie Egan, Head of the Craft Studio

Founded in 1974, the Craft Studio provided studio space for emerging artists working in ceramics, glass, metal (jewellery), and textiles, as a bridge between school and a professional career.  The Studio fulfills its vital role in assisting their careers through its residencies, workshops with visiting professionals, exhibitions, lectures and classes for the public.

Following the tour, members may explore Harbourfront Centre - including the fabulous shop with craftwork by Canadians, and three exhibition spaces, the waterfront, the lakeside restaurant, and other interesting locations nearby.

We look forward to meeting you at 1pm, in the main lobby of York Quay Centre, 235 Queens Quay West.

How to get there:

From Union Station, take either the 509 Exhibition or 510 Spadina streetcar west from inside Union Station (look for the Harbourfront signs to exit from the subway platform by the correct stairs).  Disembark on the third stop, Lower Simcoe Street.

Both the 509 and 510 streetcars stop directly in front of Harbourfront Centre.

From Spadina Station, take the 510 Spadina streetcar south.
