The grace and splendour of France’s Romanesque and Gothic architecture captivated Morris on the many visits that began when he was 20. The landscape of Normandy also charmed him with its beautiful fields, planted it seemed "for their beauty only, that they might grow always among the trees, mingled with the flowers, purple thistles, and blue cornflowers, and red poppies."

As a prelude to the Society’s June tour, this year’s Grange Lecture will examine several of the architectural and scenic gems of Northern France.

IMPORTANT: Numbers are limited to 45. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased ahead of time or at the door (subject to availability). Members, look for details in your recent mailing.
