This
illustrated lecture by Doug Brown explains the theories behind the Arts
and Crafts Movement in
Britain
and moves on to
show the influence these theories had on British architects and their
work. Some of these architects and their pupils had a significant
influence on the architectural scene in
Canada
, especially on
the west coast and in
Ontario and
Quebec
. Although information on Canadian Arts and Crafts architecture is
scanty, the lecture tries to cover most of those who have generally been
described as Arts and Crafts.
