The Next Big Trip

Sunday, October 3 to Monday October 11, 2010

Join our nine-day tour to the U.S. to attend the international conference, “Useful and Beautiful: The Transatlantic Arts of William Morris and the Pre-Raphaelites”, together with related exhibitions at the University of Delaware, the Delaware Art Museum (with the largest Pre-Raphaelite Art collection outside Britain), and the Winterthur Museum and Country Estate.

In addition to conference sessions and special exhibitions, there will be a keynote lecture, demonstrations by leading practitioners who make and design Arts and Crafts objects, a gala banquet and related film, theatre, and musical performances.

Along the way to the conference in Delaware, we will visit Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob in Pennsylvania, and then proceed to Washington DC for two days of sightseeing and events. After the conference, we will return to Toronto via Corning and the Finger Lakes in upstate New York where stunning fall colours should be at their peak.

Members will receive tour brochures with full details in March 2010.
