The event includes a bus trip from Toronto to St. Catharines, short walking tours of neighbourhoods with MacBeth and Nicholson houses, a visit to one or more interiors, lunch in an 'Arts and Crafts' church, prepared by the rector, followed by a tour of the building with a display of liturgical vestments, and of course, a visit to the exhibition itself held in Rodman Hall, the city art gallery. The walks and other activities will be led by Norman MacDonald, a local architect and long-time member of the WMSC, assisted by Doug Brown. Indications are that this will be a popular event. Space is limited, and WMSC members and their guests will be given priority in the case of overbooking. The fee of $50 per person includes the return bus trip, sit down lunch in Saint Barnabas's Church, and a contribution to the Niagara Society of Architects. The only additional cost is the entrance fee to Rodman Hall, which is $2 and must be paid by the individual. The bus leaves Toronto at 9:00 am next to the Toronto Reference Library, on Asquith Avenue, one block north of Bloor Street. A stop will be made at the car pool parking lot at the south-west corner of the Queen Elizabeth Way and Winston Churchill Blvd. in Mississauga to accommodate our many members living in the west end of the GTA. Those boarding at this point should arrive there at 9:30am at the latest. For further information phone Doug Brown at Mississauga 905-822-2169. Don't be put off by the answering machine.
