A library built from the Carnegie endowment, the Beaches branch was originally designed by Eden Smith & Sons, Toronto's well-known Arts and Crafts architectural firm. Beautifully restored and expanded in this century by local architect Phillip H. Carter and Kingsland + Architects Inc., this branch is a favourite of local residents and one of the jewels of the TPL network.

After our tour, wander through the free Beaches Arts and Crafts show taking place next door in Kew Gardens park. This annual show hosts a range of Canadian-made artwork, pottery, textiles, jewellery and home decor.

For those so inclined, we may later go for a drink and a snack at the Stone Lion Pub a few blocks west on Queen. While this is a free event and your friends are also welcome, please register on the attached form so that we can estimate numbers for the tour.
