The William Morris Society of Canada encourages membership and offers the opportunity, together with fellow Morrisians both in Canada and abroad, to be inspired by the spirit and memory of one of the greatest men of the nineteenth century. The Society also encourages the work of local, regional and national groups and craftspeople.
Regular events include a wide range of talks over Zoom, on all aspects of Morris’s life and work, along with those of his circle, and those who perpetuate his ideas and attitudes. The events are varied and we also organize workshops, the biannual Symposium, a Morris Birthday Party, with guided walks and visits to exhibitions. Members are encouraged to bring friends for Society events.
Society bulletins are sent for advance notice of Society events and reduced rates for trips. Members may also receive a copy of the Journal of William Morris Studies (UK), published biannually, which includes scholarly articles across the field of Morris studies and reviews of publications relevant to Morris’s life and work, for an additional fee.
